Merocas 1gm injection contains Meropenem, a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the carbapenem group. It is used to treat various bacterial infections, including pneumonia (both community-acquired and nosocomial), urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, gynecological infections (such as endometritis and pelvic inflammatory disease), skin and soft tissue infections, meningitis, and septicemia. Additionally, it is indicated for the empirical treatment of presumed infections in adults with febrile neutropenia and for managing bacterial bloodstream infections and febrile neutropenia in neutropenic patients.
